Olerup SSP® HLA Typing Kits are qualitative in vitro diagnostic kits for the DNA typing of HLA Class I and HLA Class II alleles. The products are used by trained professionals in medical settings for the purpose of determining HLA phenotype. The source material tested is DNA.
Our ambition is, to distinguish all confirmed HLA alleles up to 4-digit resolution for the HLA-A, HLA-B, HLA-C and DRB1 loci, and all known alleles for other HLA loci.
Disease associated alleles: There are autoimmune conditions with a strong association with HLAs, such as: Ankylosing Spondylitis associated to HLA-B*27; Narcolepsy, a neurological disease closely associated with the HLA-DQB1*06:02 and over 95% of patients with Coeliac Disease have some isoform of HLA-DQ2 or DQ8.
